Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Liu Weimin's Remarks on the So-called Incident of China's Fishery Administration Vessel "Bullying" Philippine Vessels
2012-04-29

Q: According to reports, Philippine foreign department spokesman said that on April 28, China Yuzheng-310 vessel returned to waters off the Huangyan Island and created a tremendously high wave to "bully" Philippine vessels. How does China comment?

A: According to our knowledge verified with competent authorities, on the early morning of April 28, China Yuzheng-310 vessel was performing duty in waters off the Huangyan Island. The Philippines' claim that the Chinese vessel "bullied" Philippine ones is sheer fabrication. The Huangyan Island is inherent territory of China and we hope the Philippines will stop making trouble that will only complicate the situation.
