Ambassador TIAN Qi Presented Copy of Credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica


On March 21, H.E.TIAN Qi, new Ambassador of China to Jamaica, presented Copy of Credentials to Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica.

Qi elaborated on the achievements of China's National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (also called Two Sessions). Speaking highly of the development of China-Jamaica relations, he expressed his commitment to work together with the Jamaican side to push forward the Friendly Partnership for Common Development between China and Jamaica to a new high.

The Honourable Minister Johnson-Smith congratulated on the successful convening of China's Two Sessions and the new government leaders elected. She expressed her warm welcome to Ambassador TIAN and congratulated China on the remarkable achievements in its development. She praised the good momentum of development between the two countries and expressed appreciation to China for the support and assistance granted to Jamaica. She wished to work closely with Ambassador TIAN to further advance bilateral relations.

Views on international and regional issues of common concern were exchanged as well.

Ambassador TIAN Qi arrived in Jamaica to take on his post on March 19.
