China and Jamaica Signed A New Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation
On July 30th, H.E. Tian Qi, Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica and Honorable Kimina Johnson-Smith, Minister of Foreign Affaris and Foreign Trade of Jamaica signed an Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation. Political Cousnellor Yang Wenxu, Economic and Commercial Counsellor Fan Jianghong of the Embassy and representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Ministry of Transport and Mining, Planning Institute of Jamaica attended the signing ceremony.


According to the Agreement, the Chinese Government is to provide grant funding for the implementation of the mutually agreed projects.


H.E.Tian Qi extended warmest congratulations on the 57th anniversary of the Independence of Jamaica, and claimed that the agreement is another example of bilateral cooperation and China would like to strengthen further cooperation in all areas with Jamaica under the Belt and Road initiative for more win-win achievements.


Minister Johnson-Smith thanked Chinese Government for its generous and continued strong support for Jamaica. She hoped that bilateral relationships between the two countries would continue to grow and attain increased levels of cooperation.
