Ambassador Tian Qi Hosted Reception for Jamaican Students Awarded Chinese Government Scholarships


 On August 23rd, H.E. Tian Qi, Ambassador of China to Jamaica hosted a special reception in honor of twelve Jamaican students at his residence. These Jamaican students were awarded the Chinese Government Scholarships and other Chinese full scholarships and  will pursue their Master's or Bachelor's degrees in various academic fields at prestigious universities in China from September 2019.   Permanent Secretary Ambassador Marcia Gilbert-Roberts, and Under-Secretary Ambassador Alison Stone Roofe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Mrs. Donnette Carter, Senior Director, and Ms. Sarah Fagan, Director of the Scholarships and Assistance Unit at the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service, representatives of former Chinese Scholarship recipients, and family members of the 2019 scholarship awardees were present.
