On September 26, 2005, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica addressed a Note to the Chinese Embassy in "On behalf of the Government and People of Jamaica, it gives me great pleasure to convey, to the Government and People of the People's Republic of On this auspicious occasion, we take special pleasure in commending the great strides made by your country in the pursuit of economic and social development, in addition to the important role I am especially gratified at the ever-increasingly levels of cooperation and high-level official contacts that have occurred between our countries in recent years. These contacts have served to increase the opportunities for effective collaboration in several areas. My recent visit in June of this year, which resulted in the signing of a number of economic and technical assistance agreements, has also solidified our relations.
