Vice Minister Yang Jiechi held friendship promotion activities for diplomatic envoys from Latin America and Caribbean countries on May 12, 2006. The envoys and their spouses were invited to visit the Capital Museum and to attend a banquet hosted by Vice Minister Yang and his wife in Diayutai State Guesthouse.

The envoys indicated the activities further enhanced their understanding of the Chinese culture and increased their confidence over China's development and the prospect of China-Latin America relations.
