On July 12, 2007, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei lunched with the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) Caucus of ambassadors in Beijing. He made positive comments on bilateral ties, pointing out that both sides enjoy broad prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. He expressed hope that both sides will continue to strengthen exchanges at all levels and expand cooperation on economy, trade, culture and education, so as to push their ties to a new level. The diplomats fully agreed with He's comments on bilateral ties, as well as his suggestions on further developing China-CARICOM ties, expressing willingness to work with China to deepen friendly cooperation between both sides.
