Yang Jiechi Meets with Foreign Minister Sidiki Kaba of Senegal

On June 20, 2018, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee Yang Jiechi met in Beijing with Foreign Minister Sidiki Kaba of Senegal.

Yang Jiechi expressed that China and Senegal enjoy traditional friendship. In recent years, bilateral relations have reached the high level of comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership under the joint guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Macky Sall. The Chinese side is willing to, together with Senegal, consolidate political mutual trust, maintain high-level exchanges, and enhance cooperation within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the United Nations, so as to inject new impetus into the development of China-Senegal relations and promote the building of an even closer community of shared future for China and Africa.

Sidiki Kaba expressed that Senegal has profound sentiment towards China, and firmly supports the one-China principle. President Macky Sall looks forward to attending the FOCAC Beijing Summit in China this September to further strengthen bilateral all-round cooperation, in a bid to promote Senegal-China relations for greater development.
